After the BMW MOA rally in Redmond, Jim Hyde with Rawhyde Adventures asked me to join them on their southbound leg of the Continental Divide trail ride. They were starting in Helena Montana the next weekend. Since I had planned to attend ADVRIDER West Fest in Darby that weekend, I just piggybacked the two events together, extened my trip a couple of extra days, and joined in for the ride. Much to my surprise, BMW Motorrad Vice President Peter de Waal was along for the ride as a paying customer. It seems he rides motorcycles for his vacation just like we do! So I got a few pictures of him to go along with our story and ended up with a large stash of excellent pictures from the very scenic trip. The Rawhyde crew does it right when it comes to guided tours. They mix in great restaurants and accomodations along with “roughing it” while camping in some increadibly scenic locals. Below is a slide show from our trip.

James — Great photos, thanks. We missed you after you returned to Oklahoma. Things got a little gnarly toward the end, especially with the notorious mud of a rainy New Mexico. But I’d go again in a heartbeat. Great friends, great scenery and great fun! Thanks for all you are doing for our passion with Adventure Rider. I have ordered every edition!
Best,
